Swissport
Swissport is a global leader in ground and cargo handling, supporting more than 43,000 employees, managing over 1.7 million flights and servicing more than 82 million passengers annually across nearly 300 airports worldwide. With such a vast operational footprint and workforce, seamless internal communication is critical to maintaining both safety and efficiency.

As the aviation industry evolved and front-line demands increased, Swissport recognised the need to modernise how it communicates with its teams on the ground.
Outdated noticeboards and printed communications were no longer effective in reaching a dispersed, mobile workforce operating in high-pressure environments.
We worked with Swissport to create a scalable digital signage solution to centralise communication, improve accessibility and increase employee engagement across all touchpoints of its operation.
Challenges
Operating in a dynamic, high-security environment, Swissport faced the challenge of delivering consistent, real time communication to thousands of staff across terminals, cargo warehouses and ramp areas. Traditional communication methods were static, often out-of-date, and difficult to update quickly, particularly for time-sensitive information such as safety bulletins or weather disruptions.
Additionally, the workforce needed access to up-to-date documentation and training materials without disrupting operational flow. The challenge was to implement a solution that not only informed employees but actively engaged them, supporting critical processes like compliance, learning, and health and safety awareness.
Solution
In partnership with ZetaDisplay, Swissport implemented a cutting-edge digital signage network tailored to the unique needs of airport ground operations. Interactive and non-interactive screens were deployed in key locations across the estate, from staff break rooms and check-in zones to airside operational areas, ensuring that essential updates could reach employees at the point of need.
The content strategy was designed to reflect Swissport’s operational priorities. Live data feeds displayed real time flight updates and weather visibility, while rotating messages covered shift briefings, HR updates, and regulatory compliance requirements. Interactive touchpoints enabled staff to complete mandatory ‘Read and Sign’ documents and access training resources directly on screen, reducing paperwork and improving compliance visibility. ZetaDisplay’s content management system provided Swissport’s teams with complete control, allowing localised, site-specific updates while ensuring consistency with global standards. Integration with existing systems meant that updates could be automated where needed, further improving operational agility.

Benefits
Swissport’s investment in digital signage has significantly enhanced internal communication and operational responsiveness across its global network. The ability to deliver timely, location-relevant updates has improved safety awareness, reduced reliance on manual communication methods, and helped reinforce a culture of transparency and accountability.
Interactive screens have transformed compliance workflows, allowing staff to engage with critical documents and training materials at their own pace, reducing disruption to their daily roles while increasing engagement and completion rates.
The new system also supports Swissport’s commitment to digital transformation and innovation in airport services. With a scalable infrastructure and unified communications platform, Swissport is now equipped to keep pace with the needs of its people and operations worldwide.
